Deng Lin and Li Ming are deskmates, and they are good friends. Deng Lin is very clever, while Li Ming studies very hard. In the mid-term, Deng Lin got 100 marks in English while Li Ming got only 70.邓林与黎明是同桌，又是好朋友。邓林很聪明，而李明学习很用功。其中考试邓林英语得了100分，而李明只得了70分。
Deng Lin was so proud that he was getting lazy. He began to play games after school instead of doing his homework. Li Ming, however, made up her mind to work even harder. She went over her lessons deep into the night. In the final exam, their marks completely changed!
